The book is an essay in images with text by Christoph Schäfer, who is known for his work with Hamburg-based, militant visionaries and poetic urban planners, Park Fiction. Schäfer tells a rhizomatic story in six chapters of urban life from the primordial sludge of cities to the "Right to the City" movement in Hamburg in 2009. In the urban fabric today, subcultures, artists, and designers play an important role as producers of collective spaces, as the inventors of places of desire. In a society where passion and work, privacy and professionalism are increasingly difficult to distinguish, the battle for the city is a struggle for the means of production: a struggle for the right city.
