Converted from the former oil tanks of Bankside Power Station, The Tanks at Tate Modern were designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron to showcase live art, installation, and the moving image. The raw industrial spaces were inaugurated in 2012 in many different ways. One of them was 'Art in Action', a festival of performance and film projects by over 40 established and emerging artists from around the world.
