This contemporary art magazine spotlights encounters between Cameroon and the ‘West’ during more than a hundred years. JAMAN (Bamum for “German”) is an artistic research project and a comical opera imagined by Christian Hanussek and Salifou Lindou (2010-2012). Poetic and scientific texts as well as cartoons and interviews by various authors from various disciplines contextualise this project and challenge cherished notions of cultural authenticity.
