In 2003 the new railway station in Zug, Switzerland, was opened with James Turrell's Light Transport , a permanent light installation. In 2005 the Walter A. Bechtler-foundation's Skyspace Piz Uter by James Turrell was opened, one of the first Skyspaces in Continental Europe. The two installations represent two contrary work types, one in a natural surrounding and one in a city. This publication presents the two works in Zug and Zuoz as case studies, comparing them and placing them into the context of the artist's overall oeuvre.
