Publication on the occasion of the solo exhibition by Adrien Tirtiaux at Ikob – Museum für Zeitgenössische Kunst in Eupen, Belgium. During an artist residency in summer Adrien Tirtiaux (*1980, lives and works in Antwerp) has undertaken 12 heroic works in an around the ikob, taking the institution, its collection, (exhibition) space and time as main sources of inspiration and raw material to work with. Like one of these comic heroes, from whom he takes inspiration, architect and artist Tirtiaux (who studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna) shoulders 12 works that constitute the exhibition's central theme and simultaneously emphasise the inherently performative approach of the artist.
