On the mud-flats in Cuxhaven, northern Germany, over an area of 2,5 square kilometres, there stand 100 life-size figures cast in iron - in 17 hardly noticable different poses, all of them casts of the body of the artist looking at the horizon. At regular intervals the figures are reclaimed by the water, their presence is dependent on the tides.
