Published on the occasion of the conclusion of Lily van Ginneken's period as director of Stroom Den Haag. She decided on an unexprected presentation to mark the opening of the new building on the Hogewal, namely a number of works by Carl Andre, and others. These were the artists who involved the world outside of art in their work. This mentality stimulated those who became absorbed in their work in experiencing this outside world, the public domain. When Stroom was being founded the municipality asked Stroom to develop a new policy regarding public space. With the historical inspiration behind it, that is was happened: the conceptual mentality in the Sixties and Seventies was the inspiration for Stroom's programme of art in public space.
