Maldoror was a non-profit art foundation in The Hague, The Netherlands (EU). Since 1997 activities have been continued online. This candlebox has been released in an edition of 20 to celebrate Stichting Maldoror's 20th year of existence on November 2007. It contains books, flyers, posters and original artworks from the Maldoror Archives, as well as artworks and announcements from artists Maldoror collaborated with over the years. Each box is unique. From 1987 to 1997 Maldoror, founded by Anthony Blokdijk along with Erik Lindner and Ruud Vermeer, published books and magazines in Dutch by and with Baudelaire, Bey and Burroughs, as well as writings by themselves; audiotapes with music by friends or their own. Maldoror organized events on subject matters as 'Art in the Eighties', the Viennese Actionists and French Philosophers, and contributed to TV shows and festivals about Bataille, Beckett and Burroughs (again). Furthermore it managed several gallery spaces showing works by many artists.
